HOMEWORK
Math
This week the students will be beginning the new Geometry
Unit. This first week will be focusing on
finding the area of different shapes. We
will start out with the area of parallelograms on Monday and then work with
triangles on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Thursday we will work with composing and decomposing irregular shapes
into shapes we already know and finding the area that way. Friday we will start with a quiz over finding
area and then move on to drawing polygons on the coordinate plane. Homework is
as follows:
Monday: Area vs.
Perimeter Problem Solving (due Tuesday)
Tuesday: None
Wednesday: 10.1 with
Real World Problems (due Thursday)
Thursday: None
Friday: Quiz 5.1; no
homework

This week we finish the Literature Circle activities –
students should complete their book by Wednesday morning; ask them about their
book and what they thought of it. They also have an individual assignment to
complete, which they will present on Thursday or Friday of this week. Ask them
what they have chosen to do!
Vocabulary Lesson 25: “tri” = three; definitions due
Tuesday, make flashcards by Wednesday, quiz on Friday
We will be reviewing for state assessments by working on
Daily Language grammar this week.
